Kenilworth castle

We had a lovely day at Kenilworth Castle. My dad and sister were both in hospital- so we had my niece over to stay at half term. We wanted to get them out and about a bit.

Kenilworth castle is supposed to be the biggest castle grounds in England. It must have been an imposing building when it was built. I have a fear of spiral staircases in castles for some reason. This one only had about 10 up to the top floor- the rest of the stairs were wooden - which felt equally scary. I felt a bit panic stricken at the top. I hate having a fear of heights! I actually have a fear of falling- which i think is why I don't like the spiral staircases!

There was a wedding ceremony taking place at the gate house- so that was closed. But as you walked in they were telling people that there would be a horse and carriage arriving at 2- so everyone was looking out for them. I love weddings and this was one of the prettiest I have ever seen.

The Marquee was so pretty. They had the white wrought iron bird cages (that I want in the kitchen) on the tables with the favours in and the children had a huge house shaped box at their highchair. I imagine it was a goodie bag to keep them amused - or maybe a teddy for the small flowergirl and page boy. It was a lovely idea!
We took some photos of the bridesmaid to see if we could figure out how to lace Amy's prom dress!

As we were leaving the castle - the bride and groom left in the carriage. They gave us a lovely smile!
