Originally a 12th Century Cistercian Abbey nestling in England's historic heartland in Warwickshire, Coombe Abbey Hotel has been restored to its former glory, set within 500 acres of parkland.
We decided to take a trek out to Coventry and look for the Country Park. we had to cut the day short unfortunately - as it was the day my dad had to go into hospital. I now have a secret yearning to book the hotel for our 20th anniversary this year! Some of the rooms at the hotel look amazing. Even the 'cheaper' rooms look full of character.
It had a moat around the outside with swans swimming around!
The country park is great- there is a sculpture trail- although this is the only one we saw.
This was carved into a tree.

Oh Kim - what a gorgeous place to visit. Your photos are fab - makes me want to go and book a room there as well! Hope your Father (and the rest of your hospitalised family) are getting better.
Hi Kim - thanks for your comment on my blog. Mountain walking is my idea of great day out - even if I do puff & pant all the way to the top - the views all around make ample reward. It is very addictive though! If you want some nice easy walks to start with in Wales give me a shout and I can point you in the right direction.
