DD is off to the X factor tour

Amy waited outside the hotel this morning to see the X factor lot leaving to go to the concerts. The coach was outside the hotel when I went to work- but don't think they left until lunchtime. It was freezing and raining- but didn't stop them all trying to catch a glimpse. I can't find the photo's Amy took- she managed to get photos of Katie and Liam from the lads group One Direction. I can't imagine waiting outside to catch a glimpse of anyone famous now- but know I was probably the same at her age.
When I was in the 6th form one of my friends was working for BA as a groundhostess- and she got us into a soundcheck (dressed in her uniform) and we managed to stay to see the concert. We even got invited to the after stage party- but I was a coward and had to catch the last bus home! So I can't say too much about her current obsession with X factor. I haven't let her into that little story- and don't think I ever told my mum and dad either!

It has amazed me how much information they can get hold of now. A couple of the Belle Ami girls got in touch with Amy asking for her votes when they were still in the competition. One of them was doing/had done a psychology degree and chatted to Amy about her homework!!!!!!!!! She's had private dm messages on Twitter from a few of the other singers including Katie Waisell. She got quite a tough press- but for some reason Amy really got behind her. It cost us over £30 in phone votes- unbeknown to us! She's still supposed to be working that one off with baskets of ironing!

She set off for the concert with a friends mum- and they had to turn back because Amy forgot the tickets. She's taken her camera with her- not sure if she'll be allowed to take photos- but she got some great ones from the comedy show she went to recently! Oh to be 17 again- with a social life! I can't remember the last concert I went to! Vikki did say maybe we could go and see the Dancing on Ice tour- because no one wants to go- and if I go with her I'll only need to pay for one ticket! I would love to see that.

****
Amy's just rung and Matt Cardle is singing his little heart out- so I imagine that means it's coming to the end. Amy didn't actually say anything- but I think it must have been a hint for Guy to come and collect them! He was going to the NIA- so it's a good job I checked he knew where he was going. The NIA is in the centre of Birmingham and the LG arena is by the International Station at the NEC.

I haven't been to many concerts - but the few I have seen were excellent - U2 and REM at the old Cardiff Arms Park. DH surprised me with tickets to see James Blunt for my birthday back in Novemeber - and I have to say he was on top form on Thursday night and I thoroughly enjoyed myself!

I bet they were good. I used to go to quite a lot of concerts years ago before I got married! My tastes are quite middle of the road on the whole- so I saw Whitney Houston, Annie Lennox, Wham!, Elton John amongst others.

I would love to see James Blunt- quite a recent convert to him after seeing him as the 'house singer' on a comedy show and went out to buy his new cd!
