Sue's not doing so well again

Mum said that Sue wasn't very well last night. Kimberley had to go and sit in the waiting room as she didn't want her to see her like that. They are talking about fitting a feeding tube now- but she's against it. To be honest- although I can share her fear it will make her gag- she needs to start gaining some strength soon. It's awful to see her lying there in pain and not seeing a light at the end of the tunnel.

We are all due to go away in the summer and I've been looking into alternative ways of getting there, incase she's a) well enough to go
        b) not well enough to drive

I sent for a family railcard yesterday- which arrived today!!!!!!!! If I buy 3 tickets on the train it will cost £176.40. I have to take Kimberley to qualify for the cheaper tickets. I did think Mum, Dad, Sue and Emma could travel down in our car with Guy and the dog. But when my mum said she could go on the train- I did think that she would probably be more comfortable on the train than having Holly half wedged by her! The train journey is around 6 hours to Penzance- and Guy could pick us up from there. If we hired a larger car- we'd be one seat short and I don't think we'd manage the luggage. Guy's dad provisionally offered to take us down- but if we paid for him and Trisha to stay somewhere and for petrol - and then train tickets home we'd still be about the same financially I think. To be honest- I don't think the train journey would be too bad. We shouldn't get held up by traffic!

It is mum and dad's holiday really- and we all tag along. If Sue is still too poorly to travel I can't see Mum going. She did mention today that we could take Kimberley, which I'd happily do-but not sure she'd be too happy to be away for a fortnight. If Mum and Dad can get a cancellation- they could book later in the year and Sue would still be able to get time off. We won't be able to go- but maybe Guy could take them down, if necessary. If they do have to cancel-we could probably take the tent somewhere. I don't want to miss our holiday- but unless Sue is well enough to travel I don't think we will be going. We can't really afford to pay for the whole holiday. Although the villa's aren't luxurious they are right on the beach. Maybe I could pay mum over the rest of the year. It all depends on what happens over the next few weeks and whether she starts to make even a slight improvement. She's still in pain- so she's not fit to travel at the moment apart from the fact that she can't eat.

She's lost 2 1/2 stone over 6 weeks- and the dietician says that although she's now a perfect weight for her height- she's lost body mass rather than fat I think- so she needs to gain a stone- then lose it when she's well?! She told us that one lady in there has lost as much as she now weighs after having a gastric band fitted.
