My sister has been on the surgery list for 3 days and had it cancelled. She is in theatre and the ward sister suggested phoning back at 10. My poor mum is so upset today. She went in first thing to sit with her before she went down- and it looked as though they were going to cancel today aswell and she left at 5. She wishes that she had stayed now.
She doesn't want this surgery as she will be left with a stoma, which she is understandably upset about. I'm hoping that surgery will go aswell as is possible and she will be able to have it reversed later.
I've been googling today and joined a support group to try and find out whether they thought she'd feel up to going on holiday. It looks like she might/might not feel like it. There is a lot to get used to and some people don't feel like being away from home. I presume she'll be going back to mum and dad's - so that in itself will probably not be ideal. I've found the train prices incase she does want to go and she can go in our car and I will catch the train..
I found out that jelly babies can help with tummy problems and was quite glad I'd found something that might help- but her daughter says she hates them.
I just hope that from tomorrow she will start to look forward to feeling better. She'll be in about 2 weeks and most people start to feel more back to normal at 8 weeks.
Roll on 10 o'clock when we can find out how she is- fingers crossed that they will sort her problems out and she starts to make a recovery. It's been a long 7 weeks watching her so poorly.
