It's Monday - what are you reading?

I read 'You are not alone' by Jermaine Jackson this week. I am a fan of biographies- but found this one quite hard to get through. I think Michael Jackson, indeed the whole Jackson clan, is a very complex character and thought I would find the book fascinating.

The verdict on the doctor is due in this week and I was interested to read Jermaine's take on the situation as well as the childhood memories. I just found it a really sad book. It felt like Michael came across people who took advantage of him all the way through his life- and that wealth and fame produced a life style where he could 'buy' what he wanted. The family didn't see each other that often- so when he lost weight during the build up to his concerts- they hadn't realised how emaciated he had become. It just felt so wrong that someone who could/should have had a huge family support network- didn't have the framework to keep him safe and happy.

This week I am reading The Camera Never lies- by Tess Daly. I am really enjoying it so far. She's set it in the world she knows well- modelling and tv presenting. I am enjoying her style and would probably pick up her next book aswell!
