Eden Project

We've been to the Eden Project a few times. It was probably the hottest day of the holiday- and the elevated walkway at the top of the dome was closed due to extreme weather conditions. It was new to us and I had been looking forward to that!

The Bio domes from the top of the 'Project'.
They had a circus skills and shelter building thing going on! People looked as though they were trying to erect tents the old fashioned (girl guide) way.

Guy's photo was much better than mine of the inside of one of the wooden shelters from an African country.
 The waterfall inside the domes.
The road side shops - Guy remembers these from his childhood in Zambia and Nigeria.
Part of the mediterranean section- I think we'll buy a couple of large planters next year when we get rid of the bed of shrubs in the one corner of the garden that is threatening to take over.
He was making two huge pans of paella for everyone in the cafe section. I think if we go again we'll try to remember the cafes in the domes- as the main cafe wasn't spectacular.

A rare smile from Emma on holiday- we had to take her out to the Eden Project as it was too long a day to leave her with anyone else!
This reminded me of Frontierville- not that I'm obsessed with facebook games or anything!

The sculptures.

Other good news today is that Amy managed to pass all of her AS levels, making up the fails earlier in the year. She didn't get brilliant grades- apart from a B in psychology, just missing an A. So if she buckles down and actually REVISES- maybe she'll pull her grades up for her A level grades. Unless she gets 3 A grades I don't think she'll get a Uni place- but she'd already decided she wants a year out, working, before applying.

Congratulations to Amy. My brother and his partner and baby have been to the Eden Project this week - I would love to go.

It is well worth a visit- although it was even more sweltering than usual in the domes the day that we were there!
