Walk 39- Kedleston Hall

I think this was my favourite of the houses we visited. It was the setting for the film The Duchess- and had a stunning drive entrance that went on for miles.
A very pretty boat house in the grounds.
Kedleston Hall

A very impressive house- I loved this one.
A goldren thread art display. At first sight I thought it was some excessive security device!

Marble pillars painted on the walls.

THis chair was used to carry the Viceroy of India on the back of an elephant.

A sheep grazing on the parkland.

Dresses worn by Keira Knightly in The Duchess

The 'floating staircase'.

A set of little suitcases. The houses had room devoted to storing cases and trunks for travelling!

The church in the grounds. Whilst we were there, a member of the Curzon family was visiting and was allowed into one of the pews to look at some of the pictures.
