Walk 46- THe Birmingham Frankfurt Christmas Market

The Birmingham Frankfurt Christmas Market is in it's 10th year- and there are over 180 stalls to visit. I was hoping for snowy photos today- but it had gone by the time I walked round! We only got a tiny amount!

The gingerbread hearts are given to loved ones- to pass on messages!

these hats looked nice and cosy- and would imagine they are going to be popular this week in thye freezing temperatures.

Jultomte- The Christmas Man. COmes from Swedish folklore.  Every good farm had a 'hustomte' (house gnome_ that lived in the barn and looked after the homestead if they were nice to the animals.

It's so lovely to wander round the market- but I prefer it midweek when it is a lot quieter. At the weekends you can hardly move along New Street.

Oh what a shame about the snow - it would have made it even more Christmassy! I went to the market a few years ago - there is so much to see and buy isn't there. Lovely photos Kim.
