We were supposed to be walking around Chasewater today- but missed the motorway exit and ended up in Ashby de la Zouch. It was a lovely day- so a nice mishap!
We parked right by the castle- so went to have a wander round and ended up joining English Heritage- making it an expensive day out! Still- if we use it a lot- some days will be free later in the year!
Guy had to walk to the top of the castle- because of my thing with spiral staircases! He got some amazing photos.
We also saw a lovely private school nearby with an interesting bird statue in the garden. The local church was really lovely aswell. I saw my first bluebells.
We also decided to head out to Castle Vale later as the sky was pretty. We took some photos at Spitfire Island. We got some odd looks.
